Welcome to macc.xyz. By accessing our website, RSVPing to our events, suggesting topics for talks, or attending our meetups, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. Please read them carefully.

1. About Us and Scope of Service

Macc.xyz is operated by C8VA Limited.

Intended Audience: This platform and our events are designed specifically for the technology and creative community within Macclesfield, UK. While the website is publicly accessible, we offer no commitment, support, or guarantee of relevance for users, entities, or organisations outside of this specific demographic and geographic area. Use of this platform by parties outside this scope is entirely at their own discretion.

2. Event Registration and RSVPs

Access to our events often requires prior registration via our website or a designated third-party ticketing platform.

  • Availability: RSVPs are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis unless otherwise stated. A waitlist system may be used when capacity is reached.
  • Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and current information when registering.
  • Cancellations by You: If you can no longer attend, we ask that you update your RSVP as soon as possible to free up space for other community members.

3. Talk Suggestions and Speaker Proposals

We encourage community members to suggest topics or volunteer to speak via our submission forms. Please adhere to the following regarding these submissions:

  • Non-Binding: Submitting a talk suggestion is an expression of interest only. It does not constitute a binding agreement, authorisation, or formal request for you to perform the talk.
  • Data Handling: Our review process is informal. As such, suggestions may be lost, missed, or overlooked. We accept no liability for missed submissions and are under no obligation to acknowledge, review, or provide feedback on any specific proposal.

4. Event Cancellations and Changes

While we make every effort to proceed with events as scheduled, circumstances may require changes.

  • Right to Cancel: We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or move the location of an event at any time due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Changes to Event Nature: We reserve the right to change the nature, format, theme, or content of the event from that which was originally advertised.
  • Notification: We will attempt to notify attendees of significant changes via the email address provided during registration.
  • Expenses: C8VA Limited and the event organisers are not liable for any personal costs incurred by attendees (such as travel or accommodation) in the event of a cancellation or rescheduling.

5. Sponsorship and Commercial Relationships

To support the running of the community, we may enter into commercial agreements with third parties.

  • Sponsorship: We may receive payment, sponsorship, or other benefits in exchange for promoting, endorsing, or showcasing products and services during our events or on our digital platforms.
  • Transparency: While we may feature sponsored content, we strive to ensure it remains relevant to our community audience.

6. Code of Conduct

We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination.
  • Sexual images in public spaces.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
  • Harassing photography or recording.
  • Sustained disruption of talks or other events.
  • Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour.

Enforcement: Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, the organisers retain the right to take any actions to keep the event a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the offender or expulsion from the event (and future events) with no refund or recourse.

7. Photography and Media

By attending an event, you acknowledge that photography and video recording may take place. You consent to the use of these images for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform an organiser upon arrival.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, C8VA Limited, Macc.xyz, and its organisers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the website or attendance at an event. You attend events at your own risk.

9. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of the website or attendance at events after changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
